PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) has stated that it will work to transform Cambodia’s agriculture sector and strengthen agribusiness, helping famers with agricultural trade and using the market to ensure the steady income of farmers.
Speaking at a press conference on the CPP’s Extraordinary General Meeting on Sunday evening, 29 January 2023, CPP Spokesperson, Sous Yara, confirmed that the party’s primary policy for the next five years is geographically divided on the basis of agriculture, focusing on the potential of agricultural development across all areas of the country.
He added that agricultural experts will be sent to different areas of the country according to their skills, which is expected to increase the demand for agricultural experts in the next five years.
"All human resources will be used professionally," he assured.
CPP Spokesperson, Sok Eysan, also confirmed millions of dollars will be utilized to combat falling agricultural prices and establish farmers' associations to protect their interests and secure their markets.
